Internship at Petronas KLCC 2020
Phewww. It has been really long since the last time I wrote something here. 3 years passed and now we’re in 2020! (Correction: Mid-2020). It’s halfway through 2020 already oh my god. The most awaited year is finally here, we’re currently living in it. When I was small, I still remember how everyone would talk about 2020 and all are looking forward to see flying cars and some unrealistic modern technology. But here we are now, locked in our houses for almost 3 months because of this shitty virus called Corona Virus Disease or famously known as Covid-19. Who would have thought right? The most awaited year that could make a transformation turned out to be a very terrible year.
So actually I am currently doing my internship with Petronas in KLCC. It is already the 6th month; 3 months at office and 3 months Work From Home (WFH). Mind you this post isn’t about the procedure on how to get a placement or what I do everyday during my intern. It’s just more on some things I guess fun to share with and quite memorable for me. So yeap. Um so where do I start? I have secured my internship placement since October 2019. It wasn’t that hard for me since I am a Petronas scholar (Talking about perks). So my office is in level 5_ (fifty something) tower 1. Quite high since the very top level is 83 if I’m not mistaken. I’m not gonna talk about the people surrounding because I don’t want to. However if any of you are wondering, yes the people in Petronas are so nice and helpful. I could say that there is little to none gaps between the employees and us, interns. So lets see the views that I get to see everyday! (For 3 months only tsk tsk)
I guess during my internship, I spend like most of the time eating. In the very first week, I followed my supervisor to attend a workshop at a Hotel (nearby klcc). It was 3 days long and of course I had a hotel buffet lunch for 3 days straight. Same goes for the third week, 3 days free buffet lunch at KL Convention Centre. All time we eat π

As someone who is working here, we get to cross the skybridge anytime π
It is also open to public (of course need to pay per entry), but the one for public is different from employees’. The public only have access to the bottom skybridge (level 41) while ours is at level 42.

Free flow coffee, hot chocolate.
Also, there’s always ‘makan-makan’ in my department. Oh and, at level 42 there’s a fancy restaurant with a very nice view. Its also open for public (there’s t&c) and would costs around RM100+ per pax. I had my lunch there once! The food is nice, there was steak, pasta and so on.
Do you guys want to see the office area?
This is the chilling area, for informal meetings and what not.
Pantry, where I’d spend time for breakfast with other interns & colleagues. How I miss.
The most important machine! Milo is always the ‘paling cepat habis’ drink haha.
Okay so now I’m gonna share about my travel during the intern. It was only a state in Malaysia, however still I went there with my supervisor by flight ✈️. Before we board the plane, my sv brought me to the golden lounge at KLIA! Haha jakun. There’s buffet to have a tea break while waiting for the departure gate to open. Here’s the momento!
Big-ass toilet! Much cleaner & comfy compared to the usual public toilet in klia.
Fluffy clouds at dusk.
So I have a stay at one of the famous hotel in that state, which the opposite of the hotel are 2 shopping malls. But unfortunately I didn’t have time to go bcs too busy. Here’s the deluxe king room- all to myself for 4 days!
Bath-bomb time! (After a super tired day)
What a view.
Eat again! This was lunch time with client.
So I guess that’s all i want to share. Hopefully I will get to go through my internship life as usual, back to normal again. 3 months left till my internship journey comes to an end (sigh).
Till then!
Update:
More pictures during internship.
I'll be here again one day, but no longer as an intern. As an executive (at first) and senior manager in few years time, Amiin.
